Community coalitions are a collaboration of community partners to determine what services are currently being provided; create a directory of these services and service providers; facilitate the working relationships of partners within the community; and assist in the coordination of community efforts to reduce underage drinking and illicit drug use.

   Brainstorming sessions are held to ascertain ways in which existing gaps in service can be filled and by whom. STAR Council currently has community coalitions at work in Erath, Hood, Somervell and Wichita Counties.
